A little about me...

Growing up I have always been interested in art. My Mother and Grandmother would often find me doodling or sculpting with clay. I often spent time with my Grandmother in her studio where she created silver jewelry using the lost wax technique. I was completely facinated by it and would sit with her for hours watching her sculpt these wonder wax creations before turning them into gorgeous silver pieces.

My love for antiques and primitives began as a child as well, but most recently it reached a fever pitch as I went into adulthood. Antiques simple facinate me. There is so much history behind each piece. I find myself imagining what type of life the previous owner of such treasured had and what their dreams may have been.

About 5 years ago I came upon primitive dolls and was completely smitten with them. So I bought my first two dolls from a wonderful doll maker on eBay. I just couldn't get over how well they were made and how delightful they were in their simplicity. It gave me the urge to try doll making myself. Now, having never sewed a lick to save my life, I wasn't sure just how my first doll would turn out. I must admit she was awful! I still have her in fact. But as I went along I taught myself how to create primitive dolls. I started out selling them on eBay and my website. I was so humbled and delighted to receive such great feedback from my dolls. So next I decided to create some patterns and the rest is history so to speak.

Recently, I've become involved in altered art and digital printable creations. I just love how versatile this type of art is. With the printable ones there is just so much you can do with them. I've made them for scrapbook layouts, printing on fabric and other neat things.

I also really enjoy creating online craft classes. It's a wonderful way to be able to share my techniques with others and so easy for users to learn. I find many people are more visual learners so online classes really appeal to them, much more than a pattern alone.

I also enjoy working on my blog. I have become quite addicted to visiting other craft related blogs and as soon as I discovered blogging myself, that was it. I was hooked! I'd love to have you come on over and visit my blog. You can check it out at: www.twodancingcrows.blogspot.com or click the blog link above.

When I'm not out in my studio, I enjoy visiting antique malls, going to the beach, boating, reading and writing. Each year we also try and plan a family trip out of state. Our last one was to Disney in Florida and next year we hope to get back down there to Universal Studios.

In the near future I hope to continue creating new dolls, altered art and other interesting items. I also want to do some creative writing. I have a deep desire to write and illustrate a childrens book. Many thanks for visiting my website and God bless,

Kelle Arvay
